Personal Characteristics: A larger than life solicitor who was an excellent leader.

Reasons to go and fight: He was a member of the New South Wales Military Forces before the war. He enlisted on 20 October 1990, aged 25, and had reached the rank of Major by 1898. He wanted to serve and dropped a rank to do so.
